Hi! I’m Matt McBrayer, and I’m an editor for Emmy-nominated television and award-winning films, living in Los Angeles.

I've built a career staring into the glowing electric void, crafting resonant stories from the warty wreckage of raw dailies and the budget-choked dreams of inspired filmmakers. My job is to balance pacing, rhythm, performance, tone, and sequence of shot in order to forge narratives and affective engagement with audiences of all kinds. I’m the sieve for your bucket of chum… or… if you prefer, the chisel for your block of marble.

My portfolio spans a diverse range of form, from critically-acclaimed scripted series, feature films, and shorts, to unscripted series, documentary subjects, commercial media, late-night variety, and live events. Whether humorous, heartfelt, unnerving, inspiring, or containing multitudes, I aim to shape projects so that they elicit their creators’ intentions.
